Macau

Macau is a dynamic city about 30 square kilometres in size, located on the southeastern coast of China. Once a sleepy fishing village under Portuguese colonial rule for more than 400 years, it has since become a popular entertainment and tourist destination that welcomes in excess of 30 million visitors annually pre-COVID. As the only Chinese jurisdiction in which gambling is legal, Macau overtook Las Vegas in 2006 to become the world’s biggest gaming market by revenue.
